Unique concept
In collaboration with artist and art teacher Young Lee of Art Class Küsnacht, VforArt offers courses where art history lessons are combined with art practice lessons. The courses are suitable for children from grade 1 on, teenagers and adults. We offer a unique concept, where learning about the history of art and art practice are united in an educational, interactive and entertaining way.
Unique concept
In collaboration with artist and art teacher Young Lee of Art Class Küsnacht, VforArt offers courses where art history lessons are combined with art practice lessons. The courses are suitable for children from grade 1 on, teenagers and adults. We offer a unique concept, where learning about the history of art and art practice are united in an educational, interactive and entertaining way.
Art history class
The material is presented in chronological and historical order and helps the students gain an understanding and appreciation for art through historical, social, religious and geographical contexts. Each course consists of an intro of art history, this covers topics such as the definition and cultural purpose of art. And analyses of form, that is, the artist’s use of visual elements as line, shape, color, texture and composition. Students will explore art throughout different time periods. Beginning with the Classical Antiquity via the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, all the way through modern times. Along the way students will learn to recognize artistic styles, techniques and analyse paintings.
Art history class

Art practice class
The art practice class is strongly related to the art history class. Each student will experience their own insights into the world of art history through individual artistic practice, by implementing their own understanding from the theory part. The practice part is also aimed to let the student develop and eventually perceive their own definitions and tastes of art, throughout using various materials and techniques. Among the subjects are the foundation of drawing and painting, like, how to use tone and shading, use of composition and line, rules of perspective, introduction to color and the basics of painting. For the more skilled students there is the possibility to further develop their drawing and painting techniques.
Art practice class
The art practice class is strongly related to the art history class. Each student will experience their own insights into the world of art history through individual artistic practice, by implementing their own understanding from the theory part. We can also help you out in English, Dutch and Korean Courses are offered according to the school timetable of the public schools in canton Zurich
