ART HISTORY
Art history is the study of objects of art considered within their time period. Art historians examine who created an artwork, when and for what reason. Art is of great importance, we understand the history of humanity through art. Besides this, it is a way to learn about civilizations of the past.
EDUCATION
Teaching children about art and its history is important for many reasons. Learning about art history allows children to gain a deeper understanding of art. Even if a child which doesn’t have much of interest in art yet, learning art history provides exposure to other humanities such as history, literature and music. When it comes to teaching art and culture, teachers often ask, how do I make these subjects interesting?
I am here to help and advise you
LECTURES
On a freelance basis I am active for public and private schools, for children from grade 1 on. My lectures are original and dynamic. In my experience children want to be engaged, challenged and surprised. By asking lots of questions I make sure to involve the children in the discussion. Examined will be themes such as style, technique and symbolism in art, covering a wide range of periods and schools.
PROJECTS
Lectures can also serve as part of a project or preparation for a visit to a museum, exhibition or church. Projects are focused on activity and give the initiative to children to do research about the artworks which we study and learn more about them. In this way children will also learn the material other than memorising trivia. Their appreciation for art will increase by being challenged to think about it in different and creative ways.
